One visitor of our site wrote an email to me recently. She asked how much daily listening would this course require in terms of hours and how much audio is in the course? Everyone who tried “Listen first” technique knows, that one of the most important point in it is to learn slowly but deeply. You listen one lesson for week or more till you understand it perfectly, every word and phrase. It will help you to recall everything you used to listen in speech without thinking.
You know, after listening a lot of English I can wake up at morning and hear parts of recordings in my head, seems like I'm native speaker. I then use it during conversations with my friends in English. Especially it's necessary when you listen to mini-stories (истории) - funny crazy stories made up from the most difficult words of the article. It's proven by words of many students that it is the most powerful lesson, because while you listen you need to answer simple questions in Russian so you have to think in Russian quickly. After listening the story and answering all questions you need to retell the whole story using your own words in Russian. It's great, believe me! I always felt excited while I was trying to do that, better and better from time to time :) Now about lessons. Here the schedule with name of lesson, type and length. Total duration is 4 hours, 15 minutes and 49 seconds :) LESSON TYPE LENGTH 1. Den' Rojdenia (article 0:56 vocabulary 5:59 mini-story 6:54 commentary 8:37) 2. Ribalka (article 1:09 vocabulary 5:22 mini-story 8:04 commentary 5:36) 3. Pushkin (article 0:37 vocabulary 4:46 mini-story 8:00 commentary 7:58) 4. Mechta (article 1:21 vocabulary 6:55 mini-story 9:45 commentary 4:35) 5. Prioriteti (article 2:56 vocabulary 7:49 mini-story 12:24 commentary 7:28) 6. Trolli (article 1:23 vocabulary 6:18 mini-story 10:26 commentary 6:05) 7. Hvost schastia (article 1:54 vocabulary 6:54 mini-story 9:42 commentary 6:55) 8. Tom Soyer (article 4:06 vocabulary 7:12 mini-story 13:24 commentary 10:09) 9. Mir WarCraft (article 1:19 vocabulary 5:59 mini-story 11:13 commentary 5:56) 10. Vikingi (article 1:57 vocabulary 10:40 mini-story 12:50 commentary 4:16) TOTAL 4:15:49 How much should you listen? It depends on how much time can you spend on it and your motivation. Of course as more hours a day you listen as faster you will start to talk :) For example, I usually listen in metro, while I'm waiting somewhere, before sleeping. I carry my mp3 everywhere. You can take one special hour for Russian, but it shouldn't be a duty. The next important thing in our technique is to feel joyful and have fun while studying. Better to relax and enjoy the listening :) As far as I could judge, everyone who signs up to our site is very motivated learner. We appreciate it and are pleased to give you first lesson "Ribalka" from RussianEasy for free. It is funny and quite simple. Enjoy! :) Sing up and I will send it to you! You can easily buy the rest of lessons at our site, using Pay Pal or any other convenient for you method of payment. Thank you very much for your interest in learning Russian! Oleg Vinzhegin |
